I was invited to speak remotely at TopTal’s Agile CoP group where I used the platform to speak about the nature of work tracking software, and whether we could apply some real computer science concepts without intimidating people, and give people, and companies a better sense of their work.
The topic was about how real-world maps are graphs, and people have great intuition for those, but all our productivity suites give us lists of lists, which makes navigating the modern working environment challenging
My good friend Rafa de Castro and I took the mic to speak about the importance of Domain Driven Design in software applications. We went on later that year to begin a radical architecture plan for the company which involved getting off Rails and migrating clients away from our REST API which lacked any kind of strong design concept.
This talk was instrumental in giving people access to Domain Driven Design concepts in a digestible way.
ℹ️Unfortunately the audio captured really, really badly. We did our best in post-processing, but the audio is kind of unintelligible.
I gave a talk at DevFest Berlin 2014 as part of my role as Google Developer Expert (Go) on the nature of transactional tests and how to keep a fast and accurate test suite

I had the pleasure to attend a 2012 off-site 80km outside of Minsk in a forest and speak about Capistrano and deployment practices.
